Shortlisted - Interior Curation

Understanding that a holistic outcome involves the seamless integration of architecture, landscaping and interiors; we were fortunate to be brought on board this project almost a year before handover, which allowed for a considered curation of all the furniture and styling. This house presented a blank slate and the clients placed enormous trust in us to select all the key furniture elements in addition to co-curating artwork, sculpture and object as part of the commission.

The client’s brief was to create a home that was comfortable for her family of boys, but also a calm retreat from the chaos of family life in the form of a relaxed, yet sophisticated living room. These clients weren’t afraid of colour and they embraced strong hues in the overall scheme. Standout pieces include a custom-made Thomas Lentini dining table which was pared with teal-accented chairs by Resident. The hero in the space is undoubtedly the Gubi GMG chaise which we upholstered in a custom zig zag fabric – a metaphor for the studio’s innate desire for perfection.

"We didn't have a vision for the interiors, but we knew that we wanted our house to feel complete. We bounced ideas off each other constantly, resulting in some unexpected and delightful results."
